Sharing Your Photos on Social Media
One thing I always want my clients to feel confident about is how their photos are shared after their session. In today’s world, social media is a big part of photography, but privacy and comfort are just as important. Whether you love sharing your photos online or prefer to keep them private, I always respect your preferences completely. This is a topic that I am super passionate about and I never want any of my clients to feel any pressure when it comes to posting on social media.
Your Privacy Comes First
Not everyone wants their family or children’s faces shared publicly and that is 100% okay. Some families prefer: no images posted at all, only certain photos shared, or images shared without children’s faces visible. Others are happy for their images to be shared, and both choices are completely respected. Before or after your session, you are always welcome to let me know what you’re comfortable with. While booking your session, I include a quick questionnaire for you to fill out and one of the questions asks about social media posting. I love having this on there so I can know it right away and I always make a note of it so that I make sure to respect your wishes.
Options for Photographing Children
If you prefer more privacy for your children, I can absolutely adjust how I photograph your session. Some options include: photographing kids from behind, focusing on hands, details, and interaction, candid shots where faces are not fully visible, and wide environmental portraits that show connection without close-ups. You can also let me know ahead of time if you’d like a mix of both visible and non-visible facial images.
Sharing Photos Online
When it comes to sharing images on social media, I always follow your comfort level. Some families love having their photos shared online to celebrate their memories, while others prefer to keep things private and both are completely respected. If you ever change your mind later, that is okay too. I have also had clients that prefer to choose which ones I can share. You can create a "Favorite's" list right in your gallery that I can view and post only those photos. I love that feature! You can make multiple lists for multiple reasons so that you can stay organized. But it is a great way for me to be able to see the photos you are comfortable with me posting.
A Personal Note
As a photographer, I understand the importance of privacy because I personally choose not to post my own children online. That perspective has made me even more mindful and respectful of how I handle client images. Your family’s comfort always comes first.

Your session is about capturing meaningful moments in a way that feels right for you. Whether you want full sharing, limited sharing, or complete privacy, I will always honor that.
